The Winemakers of Crete and the Cretan wine exhibition “Oinotika” are coming to Athens for the 5th year for their annual rendezvous with the Athenian public.
After two years of absence due to the pandemic, the Winemakers of Crete, with the support of the Region of Crete, return dynamically to the capital and invite you to the Cretan wine exhibition “Oinotika”, on Monday, October 31, at the Athenaeum InterContinental Hotel, in Syggrou Avenue.
31 wineries from all over Crete carry in their luggage 11 indigenous varieties, 7 PDO zones and 6 PGI zones and come to the capital to meet with the Athenian public and professionals of the food and beverage industry. Wine Crete invites you to be initiated into the unique aromas of Vidianos, Liatikos, Romeikos, Vilana and many other ambassadors of the Cretan vineyard. More than 300 labels of the Cretan Vineyard from indigenous and international varieties will be available for testing for visitors.
The extroversion of the Cretan wineries continued dynamically during the pandemic, since they did not stop promoting and promoting the indigenous varieties of the island and the unique character of the Cretan vineyard with events inside and outside the borders:
PARTICIPATIONS IN GREEK AND INTERNATIONAL WINE EXHIBITIONS
The wineries of Crete were present in important wine events such as PROWEIN, London Wine Fair and Oenorama, spreading quality Cretan wine to the international public but also to Greek professionals and wine lovers. At the same time, the very successful exhibitions of Cretan wine in Crete continued, as well as the first organization of the Oenotika exhibition in Cyprus, with a significant response from the industry and the wine lovers of the island.
FOREIGN BUSINESS TRIPS
In the context of promoting and promoting the Protected Geographical Indication “Crete”, important wine professionals, journalists and sommeliers from the USA and the UK, visited the island and toured wineries, vineyards and cultural heritage sites.
